MBBS in China for Sri Lankan Students: SLMC Degree Approval and ERPM Planning

A practical route map for Sri Lankan applicants covering foreign-school checks, degree approval, ERPM preparation and internship documentation.

Sri Lankan students should check the foreign medical-school and degree-approval route before accepting an offer. The Sri Lanka Medical Council publishes information for graduates who studied abroad and later seek to practise in Sri Lanka.

Before admission

Confirm whether the medical programme and university can enter the SLMC degree-approval process. Save the official programme guide, curriculum, duration, clinical plan and university contact details.

During the degree

Keep complete academic and clinical records. If the university changes the teaching language, hospital placement or internship arrangement, request written clarification and retain it with the student file.

ERPM and provisional registration

Foreign-qualified graduates may need to complete the Examination for Registration to Practise Medicine and satisfy degree-approval requirements before provisional registration and internship. The exact process should be checked on the SLMC website close to graduation.

Practical advice

Do not rely on an old list or an agent's verbal statement. Ask the regulator directly when the programme or admission year is unclear.
