A medical university campus should be checked as a working environment, not as a collection of attractive photographs. Students spend years moving between classrooms, laboratories, hostels, dining halls, libraries, sports facilities and teaching hospitals. A green lawn or modern gate cannot show whether the facilities are accessible to international students, close to the medical programme, open at the right hours or affordable.

The safest method is to verify each facility by campus, location, access rule, opening schedule, fee, current condition and relevance to the student’s timetable.

Direct answer

Check campus, cafeteria and sports facilities by matching every claim to the exact campus used by the international medical programme. Confirm teaching buildings, laboratories, library access, dining halls, halal or vegetarian availability where officially stated, food-payment methods, sports facilities, student-ID rules, fees, opening hours, health services, transport and distance to teaching hospitals.

Use official university pages first, then current student evidence with dates and context. Do not describe a facility as guaranteed or available to international students unless the university confirms access.

Start with the exact campus

Large universities can have several campuses.

The admission office, international college, pre-clinical teaching, hostel and hospital may be located in different places.

Record:

  • University
  • Campus
  • Address
  • Medical school
  • International office
  • Hostel
  • Main classrooms
  • Laboratories
  • Library
  • Cafeteria
  • Sports
  • Hospital
  • Transport

Do not review the university’s most attractive campus if the medical student will study elsewhere.

Campus changes by year

A student can begin basic sciences on one campus and move to a hospital campus for clinical years.

Ask:

  • Which campus for year one?
  • Which campus for pre-clinical subjects?
  • Which hospitals for clinical years?
  • Does the hostel change?
  • Does the cafeteria change?
  • Is there a shuttle?
  • Does scholarship accommodation continue?
  • Are sports facilities available at both locations?

A single campus map may not cover the six-year route.

Official campus map

Use the official map to locate:

  • Teaching building
  • Laboratory
  • Library
  • International office
  • Hostel
  • Dining halls
  • Sports ground
  • Gymnasium
  • Clinic
  • Bus stop
  • Gate
  • Bank
  • Shops

Save the map and date.

Do not rely on a screenshot shared without a source.

Walking the route

The practical route matters more than straight-line distance.

Check:

  • Hostel to classroom
  • Hostel to cafeteria
  • Classroom to laboratory
  • Hostel to library
  • Hostel to hospital shuttle
  • Campus gate to metro or bus
  • Night access
  • Winter conditions
  • Rain coverage
  • Accessibility

A “five-minute distance” should state whether it is walking, cycling or shuttle time.

Teaching buildings

Confirm:

  • Which building hosts international students
  • Lecture rooms
  • Small-group rooms
  • Language classrooms
  • Heating and cooling
  • Accessibility
  • Wi-Fi
  • Study areas
  • Opening hours

A photo of an auditorium does not prove that the student uses it.

Laboratories

For a medical programme, verify:

  • Anatomy
  • Histology
  • Physiology
  • Biochemistry
  • Pathology
  • Microbiology
  • Pharmacology
  • Clinical skills
  • Simulation
  • Computer or language laboratory

Ask how often international students use the facilities and how practical work is assessed.

Laboratory access

A university can have advanced research laboratories that undergraduates do not use.

Separate:

  • Undergraduate teaching lab
  • Clinical skills lab
  • Research lab
  • Postgraduate lab
  • Shared central facility

The public profile should not use a research facility to imply routine undergraduate access.

Laboratory safety

Students should receive:

  • Safety orientation
  • Protective equipment
  • Biosafety rules
  • Waste handling
  • Incident reporting
  • Emergency equipment
  • Supervision

Ask whether the fee includes consumables and protective clothing.

Anatomy teaching

Confirm the approach used for anatomy:

  • Cadaveric dissection
  • Prosection
  • Models
  • Imaging
  • Virtual anatomy
  • Histology
  • Practical assessment

Do not make assumptions from one photograph.

Clinical skills centre

A useful skills centre can support:

  • History taking
  • Examination
  • CPR
  • Suturing
  • IV access
  • Obstetric skills
  • Paediatric assessment
  • Simulation
  • OSCE practice

Ask which years use it and whether sessions are compulsory.

Library

Check:

  • Campus
  • Student access
  • ID requirement
  • Opening hours
  • Weekend hours
  • Seating
  • Quiet study
  • Group rooms
  • Computers
  • Printing
  • Wi-Fi
  • Medical books
  • Journals
  • Databases
  • Remote access
  • Borrowing rules

A large book count is less useful than access to current medical resources.

Electronic resources

Ask whether international students can access:

  • Medical databases
  • E-books
  • Journals
  • Clinical references
  • Learning platforms
  • Off-campus login
  • University VPN where lawful
  • Citation tools

Test access after registration.

Study spaces

The library may fill during examinations.

Verify alternatives:

  • Hostel study room
  • Teaching-building spaces
  • 24-hour room
  • Common room
  • Cafeteria seating
  • Reservation system

Cafeteria verification

A university can have several dining halls with different menus, prices and opening hours.

Record:

  • Campus
  • Building
  • Floor
  • Student or staff dining
  • Opening times
  • Payment method
  • Average price range
  • Vegetarian options
  • Halal service where officially stated
  • Breakfast
  • Late meals
  • Holiday service
  • Distance from hostel

Do not describe one canteen as the entire campus food system.

Nanjing Medical University example

Nanjing Medical University’s official Housing & Dining page describes multiple dining halls, mini supermarkets, cafés, bakeries and other food facilities. It also identifies a halal canteen.

Its Sports & Facilities page lists indoor and outdoor sports options and explains that international students can use the stated indoor facilities with student ID cards and relevant fees, while outdoor services are free.

These pages are useful because they identify facility type and access rules. A current applicant should still verify the campus, operating status and present opening hours.

Halal food

A “halal canteen” claim should come from the university or a clearly identified current facility.

Ask:

  • Official designation
  • Location
  • Operating hours
  • Meal periods
  • Closure during holidays
  • Payment
  • Cross-contamination controls where relevant
  • Alternative nearby options

Do not infer halal status from cuisine or student nationality.

Vegetarian food

A cafeteria may have vegetarian dishes without being a dedicated vegetarian kitchen.

Ask about:

  • Ingredients
  • Cooking oil
  • Broth
  • Labelling
  • Egg and dairy
  • Meal availability
  • Language support

Students with strict dietary needs should learn how to communicate them in Chinese.

Pakistani and Indian food

Some campuses or nearby businesses may provide South Asian meals. Availability can change.

Treat student reports as dated practical evidence, not a permanent university guarantee.

Food prices

Publish a range with date and source.

Prices vary by:

  • Campus
  • Dish
  • Portion
  • Subsidy
  • Season
  • App
  • Cafeteria
  • City

Do not publish one meal price as a universal monthly budget.

Campus card and payment

Dining halls may use:

  • Student card
  • Campus app
  • Alipay
  • WeChat Pay
  • Bank card
  • Cash restrictions

Ask how an international student activates the payment method.

Food allergies

Students with allergies should obtain ingredient information and carry emergency medication.

A cafeteria photograph cannot establish allergy safety.

Drinking water

Check:

  • Tap-water guidance
  • Drinking-water stations
  • Hot water
  • Bottled water
  • Filter maintenance
  • Hostel kettle rules

Supermarkets and daily needs

Verify access to:

  • Mini supermarket
  • Pharmacy
  • Bank or ATM
  • Mobile service
  • Printing
  • Laundry
  • Parcel collection
  • Bicycle repair
  • Personal care

A campus can be attractive but inconvenient for daily needs.

Sports facilities

Record:

  • Gymnasium
  • Fitness room
  • Running track
  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Badminton
  • Table tennis
  • Tennis
  • Swimming
  • Martial arts
  • Student clubs

Do not claim every facility is free.

Access rules

Official pages can specify:

  • Student ID
  • Reservation
  • Fee
  • Membership
  • Opening hours
  • Indoor versus outdoor access
  • Clothing
  • Training
  • Capacity

Nanjing Medical University’s official page distinguishes fee-based indoor access and free outdoor services for international students.

Gym fees

Ask whether the gym requires:

  • Per-use payment
  • Monthly membership
  • Semester membership
  • Student discount
  • Health screening
  • Reservation

A university gym is not necessarily included in tuition.

Sports clubs

Clubs can provide structured activity and social integration.

Check:

  • International-student eligibility
  • Language
  • Training schedule
  • Competition
  • Equipment
  • Fee
  • Insurance
  • Registration

Medical-student timetable

A sports facility is useful only when it is open outside classes and clinical rotations.

Check early-morning, evening and weekend access.

Injury and insurance

Ask whether sports injuries are covered under student insurance and where campus medical care is available.

Campus health service

Verify:

  • Clinic location
  • Opening hours
  • Emergency contact
  • English support
  • Referral hospital
  • Mental-health support
  • Insurance process
  • Prescription rules
  • Vaccination
  • Occupational exposure support

A campus hospital may provide basic care but not every service.

Mental-health support

Medical students can face academic, language and cultural stress.

Ask:

  • Counselling
  • Language of service
  • Confidentiality
  • Appointment
  • Emergency support
  • External referral
  • Cost

Do not assume that “student services” includes professional counselling.

Emergency services

Record:

  • University security
  • Campus clinic
  • Ambulance number
  • Nearest emergency department
  • International office emergency contact
  • Hostel manager
  • Fire evacuation

Students should save the numbers on their phones.

Campus security

Check:

  • Access control
  • Security desk
  • CCTV policy
  • Lighting
  • Emergency call points
  • Hostel entry
  • Visitor rules
  • Lost-property process
  • Night transport

Do not assign a safety rating from photographs alone.

Accessibility

Students with disabilities or temporary injuries should verify:

  • Step-free routes
  • Lift
  • Accessible bathroom
  • Classroom access
  • Library access
  • Sports access
  • Shuttle
  • Hostel
  • Hospital transport

Obtain written confirmation before payment.

Campus transport

A university with several campuses may offer:

  • Shuttle bus
  • Campus bus
  • Public bus
  • Metro access
  • Bicycle system
  • Walking routes

Confirm:

  • Stops
  • Timetable
  • Student eligibility
  • Fee
  • Holidays
  • Clinical-year routes
  • Last service

A shuttle mentioned on an old page may no longer operate on the same schedule.

Teaching-hospital transport

Hospital routes should be verified separately.

Ask:

  • University shuttle
  • Public transport
  • Reporting time
  • Travel duration
  • Night return
  • Internship accommodation
  • Reimbursement

City access

Check the route to:

  • Airport
  • Railway station
  • Metro
  • Bus station
  • Embassy or consulate where relevant
  • International clinic
  • Shopping
  • Religious facilities
  • Community food options

City access affects cost and daily life.

Campus photographs

A photograph should be linked to:

  • Exact campus
  • Building
  • Facility
  • Date
  • Source
  • Permission
  • Current access

Do not use the main gate of one campus to illustrate another.

Video tours

A video can show routes and scale.

Verify:

  • Upload source
  • Date
  • Campus
  • Editing
  • Facility access
  • Room type
  • Opening status

Promotional footage may show spaces not available to the student.

Student reports

Current students can verify:

  • Queue times
  • Food quality
  • Price
  • Gym access
  • Library crowding
  • Shuttle reliability
  • Opening hours
  • Seasonal changes

Record the student’s campus, year and date.

One opinion should not become a permanent factual claim.

Campus visit

Where possible, a visit should follow a checklist rather than a guided promotional route.

Visit:

  • International office
  • Classroom
  • Lab
  • Skills centre
  • Library
  • Hostel
  • Cafeteria
  • Sports
  • Clinic
  • Bus stop
  • Hospital route

Take photos only with permission.

Live video verification

A current student or university staff member can show facilities during a live call.

Ask them to show:

  • Campus sign
  • Facility entrance
  • Current notice
  • Student access
  • Payment or booking information
  • Route between buildings

Do not record people without consent.

Facility status fields

Use:

  • Verified current
  • Verified historical
  • Access confirmed
  • Access restricted
  • Fee required
  • Reservation required
  • Student report
  • Not verified
  • Closed or changed

This is more informative than a yes/no field.

Comparing two universities

Compare the same categories:

  • Campus used by medical students
  • Teaching facilities
  • Skills centre
  • Library
  • Dining
  • Dietary options
  • Sports
  • Health service
  • Transport
  • Hospital route
  • Access rules
  • Fees
  • Verification date

Do not compare a full campus report for one university with marketing photos for another.

A worked cafeteria example

University A has an official dining page describing several halls and a halal canteen, but the page has no recent opening hours.

The editor should publish the facility as officially documented, mark hours as requiring current confirmation and ask a current student or university office for updated information.

Do not convert missing hours into “open daily.”

A worked sports example

The official page lists indoor badminton, table tennis, basketball and gym equipment with student-ID and fee requirements. It lists free outdoor courts.

The profile should show:

  • Indoor sports: available, fee required
  • Outdoor sports: available, free under cited page
  • Current schedule: verification pending
  • Source year and checked date

This is better than “free gym and sports.”

Laboratory claims

A university overview can state that the institution has key laboratories. That supports research capacity.

The undergraduate profile should separately identify which teaching laboratories and skills facilities the MBBS cohort uses.

Cafeteria photos and menus

Menus change daily. Store:

  • Example date
  • Campus
  • Canteen
  • Price
  • Dish
  • Source
  • Student report

Do not publish an old menu as a current guarantee.

Facility changes

Campuses renovate, close buildings and change vendors.

Keep:

  • Previous record
  • New record
  • Change date
  • Source
  • Reviewer
  • Impact on students

Annual review schedule

Recheck facilities:

  • Before admission season
  • Before new-student arrival
  • After campus change
  • Before clinical years
  • When current students report a change

High-impact fields such as hostel, cafeteria and hospital transport need more frequent review.

Questions to ask the university

  1. Which campus will my intake use in each year?
  2. Which teaching buildings and labs are used by international medical students?
  3. What library access is included?
  4. Which cafeterias are on that campus?
  5. Is halal food officially available?
  6. What are the payment methods?
  7. Which sports facilities can international students use?
  8. Which facilities require fees or reservations?
  9. What health and counselling services are available?
  10. How do students travel to teaching hospitals?
  11. Does the campus change during clinical years?
  12. Where can current rules and hours be checked?

Parent checklist

Parents should confirm:

  • Exact campus
  • Hostel route
  • Teaching buildings
  • Laboratories
  • Library
  • Food options
  • Dietary needs
  • Sports access
  • Health service
  • Security
  • Transport
  • Hospital route
  • Current sources

Student arrival checklist

After arrival:

  • Walk the routes
  • Activate campus card
  • Test library login
  • Find dining halls
  • Check food labels
  • Locate clinic
  • Register for sports
  • Save bus timetable
  • Save emergency contacts
  • Report discrepancies

Public content wording

Good:

“Nanjing Medical University’s official page lists indoor sports facilities available to international students with ID and relevant fees, while the cited outdoor facilities are free. Current schedules should be confirmed.”

Bad:

“International students get a free gym.”

Good:

“The official dining page identifies a halal canteen on the cited campus.”

Bad:

“All food is halal.”

Final checklist

Before marking campus facilities complete, confirm:

  • Exact medical campus
  • Campus-by-year plan
  • Teaching buildings
  • Undergraduate labs
  • Clinical skills centre
  • Library access
  • Cafeteria locations
  • Dietary information
  • Payment method
  • Sports access
  • Fees
  • Booking
  • Health service
  • Transport
  • Hospital route
  • Verification date

Final perspective

Campus quality is not a beauty contest. A strong medical campus gives students reliable access to teaching, practical laboratories, study space, affordable food, exercise, health support and transport to clinical training.

The useful question is not “Does the university have a cafeteria or gym?” It is “Can this international medical student use the right facility, on the right campus, at the right time, under clearly documented rules?”## Teaching laboratory verification

Ask the university for the practical timetable, not only a laboratory gallery.

Confirm:

  • Subject
  • Year
  • Number of sessions
  • Group size
  • Equipment
  • Instructor
  • Assessment
  • Safety
  • Consumables
  • Make-up policy

A modern lab can provide weak training if student access is limited.

Group size in laboratories

A lab designed for thirty students may host a much larger cohort.

Ask:

  • Students per bench
  • Students per microscope
  • Students per cadaver or model where applicable
  • Students per simulation station
  • Instructor ratio
  • Repeat access

Equipment maintenance

A facility can look modern but have non-functional equipment.

Current student evidence can help verify:

  • Availability
  • Maintenance
  • Consumables
  • Booking
  • Downtime

Use dated reports and avoid broad claims.

Computer facilities

Medical students may need computers for:

  • Learning platform
  • Digital anatomy
  • Statistics
  • Research
  • Exams
  • Library databases

Check:

  • Computer lab
  • Software
  • Login
  • Printing
  • Wi-Fi
  • English interface
  • Opening hours

Examination facilities

Ask whether exams use:

  • Lecture halls
  • Computer testing
  • OSCE centre
  • Skills lab
  • Hospital wards
  • Standardised patients

Facilities should support the programme’s assessment method.

Lecture recording

Check whether lectures are recorded and whether recordings remain available.

Do not assume that recording replaces attendance.

Wi-Fi and internet

Verify:

  • Campus coverage
  • Hostel coverage
  • Account setup
  • Device limits
  • Speed
  • Cost
  • Technical support
  • Learning-platform access

A student report should identify the campus and date.

Printing and scanning

Medical students can need frequent printing.

Check:

  • Library
  • Copy shop
  • Campus card
  • Price
  • Hours
  • Scanning
  • Colour printing
  • Document privacy

Library medical collection

Ask whether the library holds current editions of:

  • Anatomy
  • Physiology
  • Pathology
  • Pharmacology
  • Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Paediatrics
  • Obstetrics
  • Clinical guidelines

Electronic access may be more important than shelf count.

Library orientation

International students should receive training on:

  • Catalogue
  • Databases
  • Borrowing
  • Remote access
  • Citation
  • Research support
  • Plagiarism
  • Quiet areas

Research support

Undergraduate students may need:

  • Literature search
  • Statistics
  • Ethics application
  • Reference management
  • Writing support
  • Supervisor access

Check whether these services are available in English.

Student service centre

A one-stop service centre can help with:

  • Student card
  • Registration
  • Fees
  • Certificates
  • Accommodation
  • Insurance
  • Residence permit
  • Complaints

Ask which services support international students.

International office

Record:

  • Location
  • Working hours
  • Email
  • Emergency contact
  • Academic contact
  • Visa contact
  • Hostel contact
  • Scholarship contact

A central office should not replace programme-level academic contacts.

Language support

Check:

  • General Chinese
  • Medical Chinese
  • HSK preparation
  • Tutoring
  • Conversation groups
  • Clinical-language practice
  • Remedial courses

Language support should connect to the clinical timetable.

Student clubs

Official student associations can provide:

  • Orientation
  • Sports
  • Arts
  • Cultural exchange
  • Volunteering
  • Academic support
  • Student representation

Nanjing Medical University’s international student association page describes departments that include academic affairs, daily affairs, sports, arts and volunteer service.

This shows organised student life, but current activity and membership should still be confirmed.

Club verification

Ask:

  • Current leadership
  • Registration
  • Schedule
  • Fee
  • Language
  • International membership
  • Safety
  • University approval

An old event page does not prove the club is active.

Religious practice

Students may ask about nearby places of worship or prayer space.

Use respectful, factual and current information.

Do not make claims about access or official status without verification.

Cultural support

Check:

  • Orientation
  • Chinese festivals
  • International events
  • Buddy programme
  • Language exchange
  • Counselling
  • Anti-harassment policy

Cafeteria opening times

Food availability should be checked across:

  • Breakfast
  • Lunch
  • Dinner
  • Weekend
  • Winter holiday
  • Summer holiday
  • Ramadan or other periods where relevant
  • Clinical early shifts
  • Late return

A dining hall can exist but be closed when the student needs it.

Queue times

Current students can report:

  • Peak hours
  • Seating
  • Speed
  • Payment problems
  • Popular dishes
  • Late options

Label this as student experience.

Food hygiene

Ask whether the university publishes food-safety oversight, complaint channels or health inspections.

Do not judge hygiene from a single photograph.

Meal budgeting

Calculate:

  • Low-cost campus meals
  • Mixed campus and outside meals
  • Dietary-specialty meals
  • Cooking
  • Delivery
  • Clinical-year meals

Campus food prices can change.

Cooking facilities

Check whether hostels provide:

  • Shared kitchen
  • Refrigerator
  • Microwave
  • Induction cooker
  • Opening hours
  • Cleaning rules
  • Appliance restrictions

A cafeteria review should include the backup when dining halls close.

Delivery services

Food delivery can be convenient but affect:

  • Cost
  • Nutrition
  • Campus gate collection
  • Payment
  • Language
  • Late-night access

Do not use delivery as the primary proof of campus food access.

Sports field condition

Photographs can hide:

  • Surface damage
  • Lighting
  • Booking pressure
  • Seasonal closure
  • Construction
  • Drainage

Current verification matters.

Swimming pools

A pool may require:

  • Membership
  • Medical certificate
  • Swimming cap
  • Reservation
  • Separate fee
  • Limited hours

Do not list swimming without official access evidence.

Fitness rooms

Check:

  • Equipment
  • Staff
  • Capacity
  • Gender access
  • Changing rooms
  • Lockers
  • Ventilation
  • Membership
  • Training

Outdoor exercise

Verify:

  • Running track
  • Walking routes
  • Outdoor gym
  • Lighting
  • Winter maintenance
  • Air-quality considerations

Air quality

Students in large cities may monitor air quality for outdoor exercise.

A university facility review should not make medical claims, but it can note indoor alternatives and official local information.

Sports competitions

Ask whether international students can participate in:

  • University games
  • Interfaculty events
  • Football
  • Cricket where available
  • Basketball
  • Badminton
  • Table tennis
  • Athletics
  • Martial arts

Do not promise a specific sport without current evidence.

Equipment rental

Check whether students must buy or rent:

  • Racket
  • Ball
  • Shoes
  • Protective equipment
  • Locker
  • Uniform

Health screening before sport

Students with chronic conditions should seek appropriate medical advice before intensive activity.

Campus clinic scope

A clinic may provide:

  • Minor illness care
  • First aid
  • Vaccination
  • Referral
  • Insurance documents
  • Health certificates

Confirm what it does not provide.

Hospital referral

Ask which hospital receives emergencies and how transport works.

Pharmacy

Check whether a pharmacy exists on campus or nearby.

Students should not buy prescription medicine informally.

Mental-health crisis

Record the university and local emergency pathways.

A public profile should avoid claiming “24-hour counselling” without source.

Accessibility route audit

A student with mobility needs should test:

  • Gate
  • Hostel
  • Classroom
  • Lab
  • Library
  • Cafeteria
  • Clinic
  • Sports
  • Bus
  • Hospital

Accessibility can vary within one campus.

Seasonal review

Summer

  • Air conditioning
  • Heat
  • Food storage
  • Sports hours
  • Rain

Winter

  • Heating
  • Ice
  • Early darkness
  • Shuttle
  • Outdoor sports

Holiday

  • Cafeteria
  • Hostel
  • Library
  • Clinic
  • Transport

Campus construction

Construction can temporarily affect:

  • Noise
  • Routes
  • Sports
  • Cafeteria
  • Library
  • Hostel
  • Safety

Record current notices.

Facility renovation

A renovated facility can improve access, but old photos should be archived.

Image rights

For campus, cafeteria and sports images, record:

  • Owner
  • Source
  • Permission
  • Date
  • Campus
  • Facility
  • Caption
  • Alt text

A public university webpage does not automatically grant republication rights.

Generated images

Generated illustrations can show a generic campus-checking workflow.

They must not be labelled as actual university facilities.

Facility filenames

Use:

`nanjing-medical-university-jiangning-campus-outdoor-basketball-court-official.jpg`

Only include verified facts.

Alt text

Example:

“Outdoor basketball courts and running area on the Jiangning campus.”

Do not write promotional alt text such as “best sports facilities for MBBS students.”

Captions

A strong caption includes:

  • Facility
  • Campus
  • Access rule
  • Source
  • Year
  • Limitation

Current student media

Obtain permission and remove:

  • Faces without consent
  • Student IDs
  • Room numbers
  • Payment details
  • Health information
  • Timetables with private names

Reverse-image checks

A campus image reused under several universities should be removed until verified.

Video-call checklist

During a live verification:

  • Show campus sign
  • Show route
  • Show current menu board
  • Show sports entrance
  • Show student-ID access
  • Show timetable notice
  • Avoid filming private individuals

Facility audit report

For each facility, store:

  • Name
  • Campus
  • Location
  • Student access
  • Fee
  • Hours
  • Source
  • Checked date
  • Photo
  • Student report
  • Status
  • Recheck date

Red flags

Pause when:

  • Facility is on another campus
  • International access is unclear
  • Fee is hidden
  • Opening hours are old
  • Halal claim is unsourced
  • Research lab is presented as undergraduate lab
  • Gym is described as free without access rules
  • Hospital route is omitted
  • Current students report closure

A complete campus profile

A complete profile should cover:

  • Campus-by-year
  • Classroom
  • Teaching laboratories
  • Clinical skills
  • Library
  • Study space
  • Dining
  • Dietary needs
  • Supermarket
  • Sports
  • Clubs
  • Clinic
  • Counselling
  • Security
  • Accessibility
  • Transport
  • Hospital route
  • Images and sources

Final review rule

A facility should be marked verified only when the exact campus and international-student access are known. A university-wide claim is not enough when the student studies at a specific campus.

The most useful campus profile tells the student what can be used, what costs extra, what requires booking and what still needs confirmation.## A final campus-comparison worksheet

Use one row for each facility and one column for each university. This prevents a polished photograph from receiving more weight than practical access.

Compare:

  • Medical campus used in each year
  • Hostel-to-class route
  • Classroom and small-group space
  • Undergraduate laboratories
  • Clinical skills centre
  • Library hours and databases
  • Quiet study space
  • Main dining halls
  • Halal or vegetarian evidence
  • Average meal range
  • Cooking backup
  • Indoor sports
  • Outdoor sports
  • Fees and reservations
  • Campus clinic
  • Mental-health support
  • Security
  • Accessibility
  • Campus bus
  • Teaching-hospital travel
  • Current verification date

Add a confidence field:

  • Official current
  • Official but old
  • Current student confirmed
  • Conflicting
  • Not verified

Before paying a deposit

Ask the university to confirm in writing which campus the student will use, whether the listed food and sports facilities are accessible to international medical students, and whether the medical programme moves campus during later years.

The answer should be saved with the admission offer.

After arrival

Facilities should be checked again because allocation and operating hours can change. Walk the routes, photograph notices where permitted, save current menus and sports rules, and report material differences to the international office.

A facility page is complete only when it helps the student plan an ordinary week: where to study, eat, exercise, obtain help and travel to clinical training.## Final evidence standard

Do not mark a campus claim as verified because the university has a facility with that name somewhere. Verification requires the correct campus, current operating status and student access.

For example, “sports centre available” is incomplete. A useful record says which campus, which indoor or outdoor facilities, whether international students may enter, what ID or reservation is required, whether a fee applies and when the information was checked.

The same rule applies to dining. A halal canteen claim should identify the building, campus, source and current confirmation. A laboratory claim should identify whether it is used for undergraduate teaching.

Before publication, a second reviewer should open each source, match the campus and remove unsupported promotional language. When information remains uncertain, state “current access not independently verified.”

That wording is more useful than filling the page with confident but uncheckable facility claims.Keep the verified campus record beside the admission offer and update it when the student changes hostel, teaching site, clinical hospital or intake. Practical access matters throughout the degree, not only during the first campus tour. Always.
